Addison Lee wins National Business Award for Innovation
Addison Lee was recently awarded Business Innovation of the Year at the 'Oscars of the Business World' in recognition of its unique auto allocation software that provides real-time management of the company's fleet of over 2,200 vehicles.
This technology has helped Addison Lee improve customer service and cut costs, as well as providing environmental benefits and helping the company to become Europe's largest minicab provider.
Green500 Names Addison Lee London's Leading Green Company
Addison Lee, London's premium minicab company, was named the first ever winner of a Green500 Diamond Award for leadership in achieving carbon reduction.
Addison Lee was the only one of the 190 member companies of the Green500 to achieve the highest 'Diamond' status, in recognition of the company's success in reducing its carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by over 17 per cent since 2002. Addison Lee was also given a special 'Leader' award in recognition of its outstanding performance in reducing its environmental impact.
The Green500 programme is funded by the London Development Agency to help deliver Mayor Boris Johnson's target to cut London's emissions by 60 per cent by 2025, to create green collar jobs and stimulate a low carbon economy. It recognises organisations that have reduced CO2 emissions against set criteria
The Green500 award is the latest of several awards for Addison Lee's hugely successful strategy to reduce its environmental impact. Recently, Addison Lee has been awarded:
- Winner: The TfL Enterprise Award for Innovation in Sustainable Transport and Travel
- Winner: 'Best Large Fleet' Energy Saving Trust Fleet Heroes awards
- Winner: BP's 'Fuel Efficient Car and Van Fleet 2009'
Another Environmental Award for Addison Lee

BP is delighted to announce that Addison Lee is the overall
winner of the BP Car and Van Fuel Efficiency Awards 2009 and has been named the ‘BP Fuel Efficient Car and Van Fleet 2009’.
Addison Lee has clearly demonstrated its commitment to reducing carbon emissions by implementing a number of fuel efficiency initiatives that have made a positive impact on our environment.
Quentin Willson, a member of the judging panel commented: “Addison Lee has definitely gone the extra mile in reducing their carbon footprint. The BP Car and Van Fuel Efficiency Awards is delighted to recognise and reward Addison Lee’s commitment to increasing their fleet fuel efficiency.”

Addison Lee - WINNER - South East of England Region
Described by the Prime Minister Gordon Brown as 'the UK's business Oscars', the National Business Awards is an independent programme which recognises success, innovation and ethics and identifies outstanding businesses of all sizes and from all sectors across the UK.
The final National Business Awards regional ceremony took place at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, where the winners of both the South East of England and Wales & the West Country regions were revealed.
Paul Tollet, Vice-President of Orange Business Services observed that the entrepreneurial spirit of British enterprise is not just alive but going from strength to strength: "In a market which gets tougher year on year and with the demands for constant improvement in the bottom line, I'm pleased to see that all the business involved in the Awards have demonstrated a common purpose - keeping the customers at the centre of everything they do."
