Environment
Addison Lee has cut emissions by 20% in the last five years. This, in turn, has seen Addison Lee win several prestigious awards for our long-standing commitment to reduce negative impacts on the environment.
Our groundbreaking Auto Allocator software is responsible for Addison Lee’s success in managing and reducing emissions.
The technology automatically allocates the closest car to the job, and has cut 18,000 miles of dead mileage per day, saving 5.3 tonnes of CO2.
In 2009 Addison Lee became the first ever company to be awarded Diamond status by the London Green500. The company received a second Diamond award in 2010, making Addison Lee the only double winner of this prestigious award.
The Green500 is the Mayor of London’s carbon mentoring scheme, which aims to recognise London organisations taking action to reduce their CO2 emissions. Addison Lee’s Diamond level award was given in acknowledgement of ‘historic and ongoing progress towards reducing carbon emissions.’
We were also awarded the Green500 Leader Award for ‘highest performance in achieving carbon reductions in London’ ahead of household names including Boots, Marks & Spencer, Chelsea Football Club, TfL and Pret A Manger.
Other environmental awards include Winner of the BP Car and Van Fuel Efficiency Awards 2009 and the Energy Saving Trust Best Large Fleet 2008.
We encourage Addison Lee drivers to attend free eco-driving courses run by The Energy Saving Trust. Addison Lee also recycles 98% of its waste and is committed to procuring goods from sustainable sources.
