Auto Allocator

Our unique Auto Allocator enables us to manage Europe's largest fleet of over 3,500 Premium Minicabs in the most efficient way possible. Taking all passenger bookings into account, the system distributes them in real-time to our fleet of vehicles whilst constantly balancing priority customers, fleet efficiency and overall waiting times.

The system operates 24/7 on a standalone basis and more than 98% of journeys are allocated automatically with no human involvement.

On average it takes just 30 seconds from the moment an ASAP job has been confirmed by the customer until it is sent to the driver.

The Auto Allocator removes the guesswork, maximising fleet performance by assessing the fleet as a whole, optimising each individual job to be allocated with the shortest pick up time and the least mileage for the whole fleet - an impossibly complex task for the human brain.

We are able to manage peak times more effectively and reduce passenger waiting times as the Auto Allocator intelligently distributes our fleet around London accordingly. If the West End is busy on a Friday night, the Allocator will send empty vehicles into this region from peripheral areas. When booking volumes are high within an area, waiting times are adjusted and automatically sent to call centre agents to manage customer expectations.

Addison Lee drivers also benefit; a 'Going Home' button lets them notify control that they want to finish their shift and the Allocator automatically sends them a job to pick up on their homeward journeys. This feature alone cut wasted (empty) mileage by 2,500 miles daily.

Overall the efficiency of the Auto Allocator system has reduced dead mileage by 18,000 miles per day, helping the company to win numerous awards for reducing CO2 emissions.
