ADDISON LEE LAUNCHES DIGITAL GLOBAL SERVICE IN OVER 100 CITIES
Addison Lee, the world’s largest premium managed car company, is launching a digital global service, allowing customers to book journeys via its app in over 100 cities worldwide. To support its international expansion, Addison Lee is announcing investment in £65 million ($90 million) of additional fleet for its operations in London and New York.
Through the Addison Lee app and via the web, corporate customers are now able to book cars across the globe, including Paris, Berlin, Beijing and Johannesburg. Premium service levels are guaranteed through Addison Lee’s affiliate network of 5000 partners. The multi-billion-pound global ground transport market represents a substantial business opportunity for Addison Lee, already an international company with £400 million ($550 million) in annual revenue.
Andy Boland, Addison Lee’s chief executive, said: “Addison Lee is investing in product, fleet and businesses to help build the international premium car service our corporate customers want.”
Booking internationally through the app or web is a similar customer experience to making reservations for Addison Lee’s current London or New York services. Using a combination of Apple Maps and Google Maps APIs, customers are taken to a local city map, and their location is identified through a pin.
The announcement is the latest in a series of growth initiatives that are strengthening Addison Lee’s global offer. In June 2016, Addison Lee purchased Tristar, an executive car service on both sides of the Atlantic with a global network of affiliates. In January 2017, the company acquired Flyte Tyme, a leading US car service business, creating a $100 million operation in the United States. In September this year, Addison Lee announced the acquisition of Tandem Technologies, a New York booking platform for the city’s blue-chip corporates.
Simultaneously, Addison Lee is announcing an investment in £65 million ($90 million) of new vehicles for London and New York City. Through an operating leasing model, the business is investing a range of brands, including Ford, Mercedes and Cadillacs with top-of-the-range comfort, design and safety characteristics to offer an industry-leading travel experience to customers. The UK diesel vehicles are the highest Euro6 emissions standard, and Addison Lee stands ready to roll out electric vehicles in London once a suitable rapid charging network is guaranteed*. The new vehicles are currently being deployed in both cities. Vehicles branded as Addison Lee began operating in Manhattan last year.
