July Update From Our CCO

Hi Everyone,

We’re well into summer now and since my last blog in Spring there has been plenty of positive achievements here at Addison Lee, which I’m very excited to share with you.

Business Growth

Our most recent piece of news is that we acquired Green Tomato Cars, including executive car providers Brunel and Travel Hire at the end of June. Our businesses have been operating in London for a combined 100 years and have shared values on quality, reliability and sustainability and this is an extremely positive time for us. Addison Lee is in a stronger position than ever to meet growing demand for reliable and professional transport.

The deal follows our strong financial results, published back in April and covered in Financial Times, City AM and the Evening Standard.

We have been open with our communications on the challenging labour shortages in the industry since the pandemic and our operations team have put in monumental effort to make us the most attractive London PHV company to drive for so I am pleased that we are seeing the fruits of this effort with the company recruiting over 1,500 new drivers since the beginning of 2022.

With a strong return to business and driver numbers showing positive improvements, we have launched a new campaign around on-demand service availability. Our business has gone from strength to strength and the additional supply of vehicles from the recent acquisition takes Addison Lee fleet numbers to over 7,500.

Award Winning

In May I attended the Business Travel Sustainability Awards Europe with our Director of Sustainability and Regulation, Andrew Wescott. We were thrilled to win the award for ‘Achievement in Sustainability – Ground Transportation Provider.’ There was stiff opposition; however, we won for our commitment to electrifying our fleet and reducing our carbon footprint. Our journey to electrification continues on and we have since made a commitment to transfer our Executive fleet with ZEC vehicles and will be introducing the Audi A8 to our range of executive vehicles. We are also in the market for a replacement of our Select+ product, which will have the capacity to carry up to 6 passengers and will be trialing the VW Mini van – look out for them on the road, the mini vans are a fantastic option for customers who need a little more space.

Best For Business

It’s been two years since we acquired ComCab London and welcomed Black Taxis into the Addison Lee family. Taking the right amount of time to integrate our businesses, we’ve effectively improved the driver, employee and customer experiences along the way. As we conclude the final stage of the integration project, Addison Lee is unlocking London for all customers with the Addison Lee App. If you have not yet activated Taxi services on your business account, please get in touch with your Account Manager.

Finally, we spent two days at Excel London to exhibit at the Business Travel Show Europe once again and I must say this year’s event felt like old times. The show was heaving with keen buyers and suppliers, it was full of energy and positive conversation. On the Addison Lee stand we ran demos of our brand-new ground travel management tool, PRISM, shared coffee and cocktails with customers, showcased three of our vehicles; a Taxi, an Audi and an ID.4 and enjoyed songs from a pop choir. We had great fun – in case you missed it, check out our LinkedIn page where lots of content will be uploaded over the coming weeks.

If you would like to book onto a PRISM demo then please email prism1@addisonlee.com so that we can share the next webinar link.

Enjoy the summer of cricket, tennis and BBQ’s and I look forward to updating you with our plans for the rest of 2023 later in the year.

Thanks

Wesley Bishop – CCO
