Snow surging this Christmas
Like many of you, I imagine, I had my first mince pie together with a glass of something at the weekend, meaning that the festive season is here again. The mince pie will inevitably lead on to harder stuff – Canapes and bubbles at office parties, wearing a Christmas jumper while out shopping, asking the driver to turn up ‘Fairytale of New York’ while in the back of an Addison Lee, that sort of thing.
I am an unashamed cheerleader for all things festive. When I’m not enjoying Cliff Richard’s seasonal smash ‘Mistletoe and Wine’, in my day job as Addison Lee’s Chief Commercial Officer I explain to Londoners and the thousands of amazing businesses in the capital why they should use us for the journeys that matter. And I believe our role in helping move you and the capital around– we do around 30 000 journeys every day – means we need to do our bit for London at Christmas.
Fixed fares from £5 in Central London*
First, no Scrooge-like surging during the festive period. I can guarantee that whatever you’re using us for this Christmas – doing your make-up in the back of the car on the way to a party, singing along to ‘Last Christmas’ on the way back from said party, wrapping the last present before arriving at your parents – there will be no fare surges from Addison Lee, no matter how busy it is.
Next, we want to help get as many of you around in comfort and style as possible. So, we’ve reduced our off-peak minimum fare to £5 for ASAP bookings through the Addison Lee app in several central postcodes*. So, this means you could take the family from Victoria Station to Winter Wonderland for a fiver. Or make it from a party in Soho to your train from Charing Cross. You get the general idea – £5 minimum fares in Central London.
Wrap Up London
We also recognise that Christmas isn’t just about presents and parties – Addison Lee has responsibility to the broader London community, and so this year, through our courier business, we’re partnered with Wrap Up London to help deliver unwanted adults and childrens coats collected from the public to their depots for onward distribution to vulnerable adults this Christmas. Our staff have also volunteered to collect coats at various London stations. While coat donations have finished for this year, you can still donate money at Wrap Up London’s Facebook page .
So that’s our Christmas offer to you:
- no surge pricing
- £5 minimum fares in Central London*
You also get as standard:
- Our own high-quality fleet (over £40 million-worth of investment this year)
- All passenger journeys carbon-neutral
- The highest quality drivers (who we’re looking for more of, thanks to demand – check out our market-leading Driver Deal here)
So whatever you’re doing in London this Christmas – partying, shopping, friends and family – choose Addison Lee to get you there. And don’t be surprised if your driver sings along with you.
