Taxi driver's guide to Highbury

Tucked away in the borough of Islington is north London’s most charming, middle class oasis. Our Highbury taxi driver’s guide is a comprehensive map of the best pubs, brasseries and cafes the area has to offer. What are you waiting for? Let’s get started… It’s hard to mention Highbury without first thinking of Arsenal football Club. Until recently, Highbury Stadium was one of the Premier League’s longest serving grounds (it was torn down and turned into flats in 2006). And in spite of it no longer housing the famous ‘Gunners’, the name is still synonymous with the football team in a way that will probably never change. Football fans shouldn’t panic though, as the team didn’t just pack up and leave. They relocated to the state of the art Emirates stadium just a mile or so up the road in Holloway. More on that later. Although the name has come to suggest a larger area, Highbury proper represents a slender patch of land between Canonbury and Finsbury Park. It includes the area’s largest green space (Highbury Fields), and the sleepy residential strip that is Highbury Barn. Dotted in amongst its many family homes and flats are an abundance of boutique shops, gastropubs and brasserie style restaurants. Addison Lee have been serving the people of London for well over 30 years now. And in that time we’ve learnt that our customers count on our expertise as much as our affordable reliability. That’s why, unlike some Highbury taxi firms, we’ll never charge you extra just because we’re busy. Follow our Highbury taxi driver’s guide to N1 and we guarantee we can not only get you where you need go on time, but you’ll absolutely love it when you get there.
