Bid Manager

Due to continuous global growth, Addison Lee Group are looking for a Bid Manager to join our industry leading Sales team, and be responsible for managing bids in response to request for proposals (RFPs) from clients.

The Bid Manager will also be responsible for orchestrating the creation of the solution and proposal as part of our opportunity management process, ensuring compliance with the client requirements whilst highlight our company’s value proposition.

The successful candidate must have a proven track record in producing winning tender / bid documents in a fast paced and dynamic environment, whilst having a pro-active approach combined with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate at all levels.

The Role

  • Manage the collaboration between the relevant sales personnel and all other key stakeholders on a global basis including Product, Solution Design, Pricing, Commercial, Finance, Legal, Operations, Delivery, Global Services, HR, HS&E and other SME’s as directed
  • Ensure all global complex sales opportunities and proposals are qualified successfully for commercial viability in terms of pricing, profit, risk, service management, contractual terms and conditions, technical robustness and protection of the Addison Lee Group
  • Complete initial analysis of tenders and qualify resourcing requirements for the timely submission of the bid. As part of this, highlight any risks that may need to be addressed
  • Identify and inform key stakeholders to confirm roles and responsibilities
  • Scope and build out bid tasks, appointments, and responsibilities of the bid project team, including completion of a bid plan
  • Monitor changes that affect the bid process and minimise repetition of tasks where possible
  • Prepare a location for the sharing of information and manage accordingly
  • Manage the bid plan with milestones, including bid reviews at inception, mid-point and pre-bid submission
  • Manage the governance process (as per the OMP) within required timeframes, including the sales business case and approval to submit
  • Perform the key role for the management and handling of collateral during the development, proposed and close stages of the bid
  • Work with the Marketing Team to produce consistent and high quality content
  • Regularly update internal Addison Lee Group resources to record progress, lessons learned and milestones for reporting and auditing purposes

About You

Work Experience (Essential):

  • A proven and experienced corporate bid manager with minimum 3 years experience in managing large scale corporate bids
  • Strong background of working in fast paced and dynamic environments
  • Created and developed bids and tenders from start to finish
  • Experienced in managing and improving bid libraries
  • Excellent knowledge of bid / tender creation techniques
  • Manage the end-to-end bid process improvements

Work Experience (Desirable):

  • Experience within the ground transportation/travel services industry
  • Global procurement processes/bids with ACV +£5m
  • Developing a team around bid process and working within in country resource to manage global bids
  • Working with external agencies to develop bids/collateral
