April 2022: An Update From Our CCO

Spring is in the air, and this always feels like a good time of the year to take stock. London is revived and when they aren’t dodging the odd April shower, people seem to be enjoying all the activities the capital has to offer.

The business has bounced back since the restrictions were lifted and we are seeing huge demand for our services. Like many industries, we are experiencing challenges, particularly with the availability of licensed PHV drivers in London. We are working hard to meet this challenge and we are beginning to see a positive increase in drivers.

In-person events are making their way onto our calendars once again

It’s fair to say that in-person events are back. In February we found ourselves among the glitz and glamour of the 75th EE BAFTAs as their Official Car Supplier, helping them to create their most sustainable award ceremony yet by using our EVs to service the entire event. Our Events and Affiliate manager, Paul Regan has a team of experienced coordinators who support the delivery of important events from London Fashion Week to the G7 Summit. Paul and his team do an excellent job of taking the hassle out of event management.

If you are interested in discussing how we can support your upcoming events, whether it’s board meetings, an awards ceremony, corporate hospitality events like Wimbledon or a postponed Christmas Party, we can put you in touch with our dedicated events team who can support in developing bespoke service plans. Contact your dedicated account manager or get in touch via email at businessteam@addisonlee.com.

We’re well on the way to being able to offer ComCab’s 2500 black cabs

I’m delighted to say that, less than a year after contracts were signed for Addison Lee to acquire ComCab London, we have completed all technical integrations and the migration of the team.

We knew when we complemented the acquisition last year, that we were buying a great business with a strong corporate reputation that shared our passion for delivering first-class service. That has certainly been the case so far and it’s been a pleasure working alongside the team that has come across in delivering the integration.

We have some very exciting plans for this over the coming months and we will be making plenty of noise to highlight how it will be operating with all of our products across our booking channels.

If you are interested in learning more about the unique benefits of the ComCab black taxi service– and what it can do for your business, then drop our sales team a line at sales@addisonlee.com or call us on 0203 800 0365

We’ve been working on something exciting that we can’t wait to share

Managing the return to travel was number one on the list of top 10 priorities for buyers for this year, we have listened to our customers and we know that there is a need for tools and technology to support the management of travel programmes – and compliance to those programmes.

We have a project team who are now very close to delivering our market-leading ground transport management platform that will offer solutions to support users and administrators from booking to billing! I don’t want to give too much away at this point however, we are looking for customers to get involved with the project team for feedback and testing purposes so if it’s something you’re interested in please get in touch with your Account Manager or our programme sponsor Rachel Connolly (rachel.connolly@addisonlee.com)

I am conscious that the challenges we face as an industry pales into insignificance when we see all the terrible scenes many people are experiencing around the world, particularly the war in Ukraine. With that in mind, I want to wish everyone a peaceful Ramadan, a Happy Easter and a reminder to take the opportunities to enjoy some time with your family and friends.

Many thanks
