Surviving Veganuary in London
As the most vegan-friendly capital city in the world, there’s perhaps no better place to undertake and truly enjoy Veganuary than London. For those taking the plunge and going vegan this month, we’ve rounded up a list of the best meat-free restaurants in the city for you to sample – and with so much choice, you may even find yourself continuing into February!
Dishoom
While not fully vegan, Dishoom deserves a mention for its brilliant plant-based options. Their vegan black daal and jackfruit biryani are proof that some of the best Indian comfort food in the city can be completely meat-free.
Holy Carrot
A rising star in London’s vegan scene, Holy Carrot offers comfort food with a healthy twist. Expect loaded fries, wraps, plant-based burgers and hearty bowls — all indulgent yet mindful. Their creative use of seasonal produce makes every visit feel fresh, fun and absolutely delicious.
Mildred’s
With restaurants in Soho, Camden, Dalston and Kings Cross, their internationally inspired vegan and vegetarian dishes are full of flavour and cooked daily on the premises. Expect bold flavours, generous portions and a menu that changes with the seasons. Their Sri Lankan sweet potato curry and classic vegan burgers are fan favourites.
Farmacy
Farmacy in Notting Hill boasts a diverse, plant-based menu, free from dairy produce, refined sugars and unnatural additives. All ingredients used are grown on their farm in the Kent countryside, delivered weekly to the restaurant by electric van.
