Driver Recruitment Specialist

Based in the North West


As the Driver Recruitment Specialist you will manage day to day challenges as well as delivering cost saving initiatives and producing a driver pipeline. You will be part of a new team who will be part of a ground breaking initiative to begin to establish Addison Lee as a national brand.

The North West Office, situated in Stockport, is the first site outside of London that Addison Lee provides services using its own vehicles and drivers. The holder of this role will be responsible for all aspects of driver recruitment and providing driver training to the North West Addison Lee Drivers whilst ensuring that the high standards achieved in London are established and maintained in the North West.


  • Overall control and responsibility to improve and retain drivers across the Addison Lee North West operation
  • Identify methods to attract prospective and currently licensed (PH) private hire drivers
  • Delivering manpower strategies which address volume fluctuations and seasonal peaks
  • Control and influence on driver induction and ongoing driver training
  • To establish, document and roll out ‘Standard Operating Procedures’ for driver recruitment
  • Managing daily resource and resolve any underlying poor performance trends
  • Supply of meaningful management data for period reviews
  • Introduction of driver recruitment policies, to include driver schemes or any other initiatives approved by the Addison Lee business
  • Establish a knowledge school and train drivers to pass their PH test
  • Train drivers in the use of the app, managing customers & customer service
  • Establish the Addison Lee Diploma Course across the North West
  • Provide and deliver ongoing driver training on an Ad-Hoc basis when required


  • Experience gained within the transportation industry with involvement in driver recruitment
  • Able to set and work to KPI’s
  • Experience of managing self-employed contractors
  • Demonstrate team player behaviours and is able to build rapport and develop trust in order to gain respect from all areas of the business
  • Experience of developing and executing recruitment plans
  • Can manage risk situations and can make reasoned decisions
  • Ability to work with and produce accurate forecasts and reports from analysing data
