August 2021: An update from our CCO
Hi Everyone,
Freedom Day arrived in London on Monday 19th and whilst the return is slightly more subdued than many were hoping, slowly but surely, I can feel the city’s buzz returning and I have to say; it’s a great feeling! It’s still early days for our city but for Addison Lee, it’s been a very eventful month indeed…
On Monday 12th July we completed the acquisition of ComCab London, City Fleet and Flightlink making Addison Lee London’s largest one-stop shop for ground transport and delivery services. This acquisition is one we are very excited about – an industry first – and the coming together of two iconic brands both synonymous with quality, service and safety.
Over the coming weeks, through a programme of continual improvement of our technology, the Addison Lee platform will further enhance user experiences offering customers the ability to book and manage private hire, Black taxi, courier, and delivery services all from one platform. But we know that technology can’t do it all and at Addison Lee, we believe that the combination of technology, our people and our fleet is what makes us stand out in the market and we will never compromise on the safety and consistency of service.

Our dedicated webinar, hosted by the Institute of Travel Management (ITM)
On Thursday 15th July we held a dedicated webinar, hosted by the Institute of Travel Management (ITM), where we talked through the acquisition and what technology is being developed to offer more choice to our customers plus our sustainability ambitions.
We discussed the importance of businesses and policymakers taking decisive steps in environmental concerns around ground transportation and the challenges ahead and there was also an invitation to join our ESG peer group, facilitated by Andrew Wescott our Head of External and regulatory affairs. If you or one of your colleagues would like to get involved, please get in touch.
Our focus on safety & hygiene – face coverings
Over the course of the pandemic, we have delivered industry-leading safety & hygiene initiatives and will continue to offer a range of measures to ensure the health and wellbeing of both passengers and drivers. Our safety screens have allayed anxieties amongst our drivers and passengers, and I am pleased to say they will remain in place to offer another level of protection.
In line with Transport for London (TfL) guidance for taxi and Private Hire Vehicle (PHV) operators, we expect and recommend that all passengers and drivers wear a face covering when they travel within one of our vehicles.
We will continue to keep you updated with changes to our guidance or service. For more information visit our Safety Hub: https://www.addisonlee.com/safety/
Returning to the workplace – When you’re ready, we’re here
July also saw us warmly welcome many more colleagues back into the office through a dynamic working policy and we have seen many businesses join us in bringing staff back to the office with others reaching out to our teams to begin planning for a return after the summer.
We hope that by working together we can give your colleagues the confidence to travel, so when they leave home each day, they feel safe and confident about the journey ahead.
As you continue to navigate what a return to the office looks like, I encourage you to reach out to us. Our people, knowledge and experience are here to help you with planning and coordinating. So, if we can help, please contact your Account Manager, or email us at sales@addisonlee.com.
We look forward to an exciting period ahead and we cannot wait to share more with you all as transform our business.
Many thanks
Wesley Bishop
